November 18, 2008 09:26 AM - The City of Mississauga has a new director of the Office of Arts and Culture.
Susan Burt has been serving as interim director since Zainub Verjee stepped down several weeks ago.
Burt has formerly served as staff liaison on Mayor Hazel McCallion's Arts Review Taskforce, as the City's arts co-ordinator for the performing arts and as manager of the arts unit.
"I'm happy to step in on an interim basis and allow things to continue," said Burt. "Nothing has been changed (or cancelled). We have a great staff here and I don't think we've missed a beat."
Burt said the City manager's office will look into finding a permanent replacement for Verjee.
