The Mississauga Chargers took another step backward tonight in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
The Chargers lost their third game in a row, dropping a 5-2 decision to the Oakville Blades.
With almost half of the regular season behind them, the Chargers have only four wins this season and sit in last place in the MacKinnon Division with a 4-18-0-1 record.
The Chargers trailed 2-0 after the first period against Oakville and were behind 3-1 to start the third.
Mike Moher brought the Chargers to within a goal when he scored midway through the final frame. But the Blades, who share top spot in the MacKinnon Division with the Burlington Cougars, scored twice in the last five minutes.
Adam Bevilacqua had the other goal for Mississauga.
Goaltender Paul Claxton, recently acquired in a trade with the Hamilton Red Wings, took the loss. He stopped 40 of 45 shots. The Chargers had 35 shots at Oakville netminder Matt Hache.
