The company recently announced its Genesis Products division and subsidiary, KML Building Solutions, has been contracted to build affordable homes for low-income families in Cambridge.
KML will provide all the light-steel frames needed to build the houses. The company hopes to deliver all the frames for the project by late January.
"This is the first project for KML in this particular market segment," said Genesis president and CEO Vince Mifsud. "We're pleased to be building quality residential structures that are important for residents in Cambridge. The government-assisted living market is an interesting niche. Our Genesis Solution fits particularly well where there are multiple family units connected and when combustibility and sound are concerns, which is this case here. Importantly, our solution also allows for buildings to take on many different architectural styles in order to blend into the community without looking like a block of apartments."
