It was good to learn through The Mississauga News (Aug. 13) that the City of Mississauga invited Ben Gomberg, Chicago’s bicycle program coordinator, to share his expertise with the City.
No wonder one of Chicago’s busiest citizens, Senator Barack Obama, can be caught bicycling in that city, made so friendly by Gomberg.
Gomberg will likely have advised the City of Mississauga to mark bicycle lanes on all roads, to have bicycle racks on buses and to provide discounted bus fares for riders carrying bikes. And we could even do better than sporting “Share the Road” stickers on vehicles.
We could display on the back of our buses large posters of our own most prominent citizen, Hurricane Hazel, riding a bicycle.
