Police have charged a 19-year-old Mississauga man with a slew of charges including attempted murder after he fired shots at an OPP officer yesterday.
Police said an OPP sergeant was at work on the northbound lanes of Hwy. 410 targeting street racing vehicles at 12:10 a.m. when he noticed a black Acura speeding.
The driver of the car allegedly ignored the OPP's requests to stop his car. A chase ensued during which both the vehicles entered a residential area near Queen and Lambeth Sts. in Brampton.
The driver of the Acura is reported to have lost control and crashed his vehicle and, as the OPP officer tried to arrest him, the suspect fired several shots and fled the scene.
Peel Police, with the help of tactical and K9 units, found a man hiding in the attic of a relative's home. They also found two guns.
Triston McLean, of Mississauga will appear in court today.
